The Need for Analytic Process

Life’s problems don’t often arrive in neatly wrapped packages. Rather, we find them ill-defined, messy, contentious, and untimely. They never come with an explicit set of instructions for how to address them. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed, ill-equipped, and sometimes even desperate. Successfully addressing these difficult issues requires that we are able to:

  • Sort through and make sense of complex issues
  • Find and utilize relevant data
  • Appropriately involve those who have information, experience or ideas that we need—or who have a stake in the outcome
  • Proactively confront conflict-laden situations
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to persistent problems, and
  • Articulate a clear rationale for decisions made and actions taken.

We teach our proven analytic thinking processes to educators and students to help them individually and collectively more effectively resolve the difficult decisions and issues they face.
